Many cemetery websites now provide the ability to search for the names of people interred there. Other details to help with your family history are often also included, such as date of death, spouse’s name and sometimes even date of birth.

The list of cemetery web-sites provided below is a good place to start, to search for the final resting place of someone in Australia. However, many individual cemeteries have their own websites also. You could try typing the name of the town you believe the person whose grave you are looking for was interred in, into a search engine, such as Google. The result might lead you to one of the sites suggested below (e.g. Australian Cemeteries Index or Find a Grave), or might provide a link to a specific cemetery.
